Chancellor Sheri N. Everts’ report included Thursday morning’s groundbreaking of a new building for the Beaver College of Health Sciences on State Farm Road, An Appalachian Summer Festival’s 32nd season and the fifth Appalachian Energy Summit, which will draw local citizens as well as visitors from across the state and beyond.
The awards are made possible by a contribution from G.A. Sywassink, CEO of Standard Holding Company of Charlotte, a former member of Appalachian’s Board of Trustees and a current member of the UNC Board of Governors.

A ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, June 23, from 10 – 11 a.m. at Appalachian State University’s Beaver College of Health Sciences site, 1179 State Farm Road. The campus community and public are invited.
