BOONE—Following a national search, Paul Forte has been named vice chancellor for business affairs at Appalachian State University. Forte previously served as associate vice chancellor for finance at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He will begin working at Appalachian on August 1, 2016.
“Paul Forte brings over 30 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, purchasing, risk management and financial operations in both the private and public sectors, in the United States and abroad,” Chancellor Sheri N. Everts said. “His breadth of experience will serve Appalachian well.”
The vice chancellor for business affairs is responsible for administrative oversight of finance and administration, physical plant operations, and the public safety and risk management office.
Prior to joining UNC Charlotte in 2014, Forte served as assistant vice president for finance and controller at Rhode Island College (2000-2014) and as the controller of the University of Rhode Island (1999-2000). He holds an International Master of Business Administration degree from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in business administration degree from Merrimack College.
