Mountaineers–Bulldogs doubleheader raises more than $11,000 in hurricane relief funds

On Nov. 2, App State and UNC Asheville played a seven-inning baseball doubleheader in Kannapolis, with proceeds from the event benefiting the App State Disaster Relief Fund and the UNC Asheville Athletics Disaster Relief Fund. The schools raised more than $11,000, which will support their campus communities’ recovery in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

App State student-athletes achieve 3.0+ GPA for 12 straight years

This spring, App State student-athletes achieved a significant milestone as they marked the 12th straight year — or 24 consecutive semesters — of earning a cumulative grade-point average above 3.0. The Mountaineers ended the spring semester with a 3.20 cumulative GPA for all student-athletes.
App State football season tickets sell out for 3rd straight year

For the third consecutive year, Appalachian State University’s football season tickets have sold out. This fall, the Mountaineers will take on East Tennessee State, South Alabama, Liberty, Georgia State, Old Dominion and James Madison on their home turf at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
Boswell named chief compliance and ethics officer at App State

Former App State quarterback Armanti Edwards ’09 was announced as a member of the College Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024. Edwards guided the App State football team to two national championships in 2006 and 2007, as well as the Mountaineers' famous upset victory over Michigan in 2007.

Record-setting App State quarterback Armanti Edwards, who played for the Mountaineers from 2006 to 2009, is one of 22 members elected to the 2024 College Football Hall of Fame Class. The official induction ceremony will be held Dec. 10 during the 66th National Football Foundation Annual Awards Dinner.
