BOONE, N.C.—Appalachian State University’s Walker College of Business will host a 90-minute information session on its executive education courses beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1 in the Boyles lobby area, which is located on the second floor of Peacock Hall on the university campus.

The session is free and open to the public. Business professionals or representatives of companies with training needs are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be served.

Executive education is closely aligned with the college’s mission to deliver transformational educational experiences that prepare and inspire students to be ethical, innovative and engaged business leaders. It aims to fill an industry need to further employee growth in functional areas of business, and it will allow participants flexibility to participate in the way that’s best fitted to them.

Led by experienced Appalachian faculty who possess doctorate degrees in the content area they teach in, executive education courses will offer research-based insights and provide opportunities to gain critical knowledge, to learn about industry trends and to develop new expertise.

Possible course topics include Lean Six Sigma training, which relies on a collaborative team effort to improve performance; financial management; marketing and sales; human resource management, IT for non-IT managers; and leadership development.
