Staff Shout Out monthly drawing winner
Appalachian State University Staff Shout Out program

BOONE, N.C. — The Staff Shout Out program at Appalachian State University announces Cheryl Eggers, an accounting technician in the Tax Compliance Department of App State’s Office of the Controller, as the winner of its November drawing. She will receive a gift from the University Bookstore as part of her recognition.

The Staff Shout Out program, an informal recognition initiative created by Staff Senate’s Staff Recognition Committee, aims to highlight App State staff members for their positive contributions to the university. The committee works to improve employee engagement and encourage an environment of support and appreciation.

Eggers received an anonymous November Shout Out, in which the submitter recognized her for being team-orientated and having a “contagious, positive attitude.” The submitter wrote, “She goes above and beyond to help co-workers whenever it is needed, and she is a joy to work with.”

Of her Shout Out recognition, Eggers said, “I am very appreciative that I can make a difference so that everyone has a great experience at Appalachian State University.”

Tracy Greene, Eggers’ supervisor and an accountant in the Office of the Controller’s Payroll Department, said, “I am ecstatic that Cheryl’s efforts were recognized. Cheryl is so very courteous and kind to everyone. She continually goes above and beyond to help the campus community, her fellow co-workers and the general public.”

Eggers is among more than 1,500 individual staff who have received a Shout Out to date. The program received a total of 2,682 Shout Out submissions as of November, which included multiple Shout Outs for individual staff members.
