BOONE—It’s time for OctubaFest, the annual concert featuring compositions transcribed for tubas and euphoniums. The concert by the Tuba-Euphonium Collective in the Hayes School of Music will begin at 8 p.m. Oct. 26 in Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free.
The program features the William Tell Overture, “Mars, The Bringing of War” from Holst’s “The Planets,” “Nimrod” from Elgar’s “Enigma Variations,” “Night on Bald Mountain” by Mussorgsky and “Danse Macabre” by Saint-Saëns, among others.
The Tuba-Euphonium Collective is a student ensemble. The director is Bethany Wiese, an instructor in the Hayes School of Music and a doctoral candidate at Northwestern University.
