BOONE—The Coffee Buzz 5K fundraiser will be held April 23 at Appalachian State University. The event is sponsored by International Appalachian, also known as INTAPP, an organization that seeks to increase international understanding and direct involvement with other cultures and countries.
The race begins at 7 a.m. at the duck pond on campus off Rivers Street. Cost is $18 in advance, $20 the day of the event, or $15 per person for each group of five or more participants. The first 150 people to register will receive a T-shirt. Registration and race information is online at http://www.active.com/boone-nc/running/distance-running-races/coffee-buzz-5k-2016-21500352 or https://www.facebook.com/events/1684312268474164.
Proceeds will benefit a scholarship fund established in honor of Landon Hill who died after contracting bacterial meningitis while studying abroad in Spain in fall 2011. Hall symbolized what INTAPP members strive to be, serving as a leader in INTAPP and reaching out to the international students in meaningful ways.
