App State professor awarded ADVANCE grant to foster gender equity in information technology

Women faculty in the field of information technology are set to benefit from ImPACT IT — a three-year research project aimed at removing barriers to women’s advancement to full professor. App State professor Dr. Lakshmi Iyer is partnering with four other women IT faculty on the project, which is supported by a nearly $1 million National Science Foundation ADVANCE grant.

A new family of wines developed by App State students and faculty has an award-winning look, with labels designed and printed by students in the graphic communications management program. The labels won second place in the 2021 Phoenix Challenge — a college competition between graphic communications students across North America.

App State genetic diversity study to inform US Fish and Wildlife conservation efforts for endangered NC plant
