While studying Electronic Media & Broadcasting at Appalachian State University, she accepted an internship at ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’ in NYC. Upon graduating in 2014, she moved to NYC to intern at ‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’ and pursue a life as a freelancer.

    Col. Kyle A. Reed is no stranger to Fort Bragg, having spent a decade — nearly half of his 21-year career — on the post. From 1999 to 2010 he held a number of positions within the 82nd Airborne Division, mostly with the 1st Brigade Combat Team. He deployed with those units to Iraq and Afghanistan. And at one point in that span, he commanded the Advanced Airborne School at Fort Bragg.

    David Shumate, a 2006 graduate of Appalachian State, will replace retired Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Harris as the radio voice of Duke basketball and football. Duke announced Monday that Shumate has been named the director of broadcasting for the Blue Devil IMG Sports Network.

A graduate of the Teacher Education program at Appalachian State University, Caroline received both a Bachelors degree in Biology - Secondary Education and a Bachelors degree in Biology - Ecology and Evolutionary Sciences.

    Key data are being tracked regarding the success of Appalachian State University students after they graduate, and the initial results are promising. A recent study found that 85 percent of undergraduate and nearly 100 percent of graduate alumni, tracked from Appalachian’s 2015 graduating class, were either employed or enrolled in some level of post-secondary education within one year of graduation.
