Solar Decathlon Europe 2014

Students from Appalachian State University and Université d’Angers worked together to build Maison Reciprocity, a net-zero energy house that competed in Solar Decathlon Europe 2014. The row house was built in Boone and shipped to France, where students had 10 days to reassemble the structure for the competition June 28 – July 14.
Appalachian’s American Cultural Center in China focuses on sustainability

Sustainability was the theme for recent activities at the American Cultural Center in Shenyang, China. The center, located at Northeastern University in Shenyang, is co-directed by Appalachian State University. It was launched in May 2013 with an initial $100,000 grant from the U.S. Department of State.
