The Black and Gold gathered this past weekend, welcomed by a hint of autumn color and spectacular weather, to celebrate Appalachian State University’s Homecoming 2017. This year’s festivities began Wednesday, Sept. 20, with the annual Homecoming Blood Drive – collecting a record 1,139 pints of blood and topping for the last 10 years any other single-day blood drive in the U.S.

The celebration culminated with Mountaineer football’s 45 -31 win over New Mexico State, Saturday, Oct. 7, in Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Among the festivities were homecoming awards and celebrations, the Top of the Rock homecoming selection, movies, comedy shows, concerts, the King Street parade and fireworks. Here is a photo gallery with some of the highlights.
