BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University Chancellor Sheri Everts and administrators joined Rodgers Builders Inc. workers and executives on Wednesday, April 11, for a lunch event to thank the workers for their progress on the Leon Levine Hall of Health Sciences — the university’s newest facility, which is currently under construction. The building will house Appalachian’s Beaver College of Health Sciences (BCHS) and will open for the fall 2018 semester.
“This is such an important partnership and such an important building for this area,” Everts told the workers. “You are changing this part of Boone and this part of North Carolina. You’re doing a fabulous job here, and I want to give you a round of applause for that.”

In appreciation of their work, the workers each received a T-shirt and tickets to an Appalachian football game in September.
In her opening remarks, Rodgers Builders president and CEO Pat Rodgers said, “We will continue to do everything we can to make sure this project is the best project being built in the university system in North Carolina.” Rodgers Builders Inc. is the lead contractor for the project.
Located at the intersection of Deerfield Road and State Farm Road, the 203,000-square-foot facility is built on a 9.2-acre site donated by Appalachian Regional Healthcare System. The project is designed by architects LS3P Associates Ltd.
