    App State awarded $481,378 grant to improve vaccination rates among older adults

    Flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics to be held in 10 Western NC counties through November

    App State has received a $481,378 grant from the National Council on Aging to improve vaccination rates among older adults in 10 Western North Carolina counties. Partnering with High Country Community Health, App State's Interprofessional Clinic is hosting free flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics in each county this fall.

    Ten first-year students have joined the App State Community as Chancellor’s Scholars for the 2023–24 academic year. The Chancellor’s Scholarship is App State’s oldest and most academically competitive merit-based scholarship — it has been awarded for 39 years.
