Communication faculty member receives Wade H. Hargrove Community Leadership Award

Dan “Vallie” Hill, practitioner-in-residence in the Department of Communication at Appalachian and WASU-FM manager, was awarded the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB) 2017 Wade H. Hargrove Community Leadership Award in June. The award is given to North Carolina broadcasters who have demonstrated a commitment to public service in their communities.

According to the North Carolina Department of Human and Health Services, most of the tick-borne diseases from here are bacterial infection and can cause flu-like symptoms. Appalachian State University Biologist Dr. Steven Seagle is the resident expert on ticks and says there is some positive news when it comes to these creepy creatures.
