Residence hall wastewater testing supports App State’s COVID-19 management strategy

App State is now conducting all residence hall wastewater testing on-site through its Department of Biology. This testing is part of the university’s larger COVID-19 surveillance strategy, which includes testing events and targeted testing.

    The climate science research of App State’s Dr. Baker Perry has inspired a 4-year-old science enthusiast in Brazil. In an email to Perry, the child’s father shared his son has become fascinated with Perry after watching a documentary on the 2019 National Geographic and Rolex Perpetual Planet Expedition to Mount Everest, in which Perry participated.

    The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards has ranked App State No. 1 in its “Top 50 Alma Maters by Total Number of NBCTs” list for the fifth consecutive year. App State leads the nation for the number of National Board Certified Teachers — 2,178.

    App State’s Dr. Andrew Koricich is one of four co-founders and co-directors of the Alliance for Research on Regional Colleges — a grant-funded initiative aimed at increasing appreciation for and understanding of U.S. regional, or rural-serving, colleges and their contributions. To date, the project has received more than half-million dollars in support.

    App Builds a Home

    April 19 - 22, 2021

    It's Walls Up for Sheila's home! Gather a team and join App Builds a Home (ABAH) in the Peacock parking Lot to build the walls for Sheila's home. We will be accepting teams of 4-5 volunteers. ABAH is a campuswide initiative to build Habitat homes for local families in need, with App State students, faculty and staff working together to design, fund and build the homes.
