    Senior Emily Stinson, junior Savanna Wood, and freshman Melany Chong were all recognized by the WGCA landing on the 2016-2017 WGCA All-American Scholar Team. The trio led a remarkable year for App State women's golf in the classroom which included a team GPA of 3.41, the third-highest among App's 18 programs and a perfect single-year and four-year APR score of 1,000.

The Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have exhausted their eligibility and distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership.

    Col. Kyle A. Reed is no stranger to Fort Bragg, having spent a decade — nearly half of his 21-year career — on the post. From 1999 to 2010 he held a number of positions within the 82nd Airborne Division, mostly with the 1st Brigade Combat Team. He deployed with those units to Iraq and Afghanistan. And at one point in that span, he commanded the Advanced Airborne School at Fort Bragg.
