BOONE—End-of-semester projects in the industrial design program at Appalachian State University have names like Flow, Sip and Sprout, Cinnaway and Hollo Band. The work of senior students in the product design studio is a culmination of their experiences in the product design concentration within the Department of Applied Design’s industrial design program.

BOONE—Appalachian State University was one of 38 institutions of higher learning invited to participate in the American Campuses Act on Climate Roundtable Nov. 19 at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in Washington, D.C. Speaking at a luncheon during International Education Week on campus, Jesse Lutabingwa said providing global learning opportunities has become part of the university’s fabric.

BOONE—Professor Al Harris from Appalachian State University’s Department of Computer Information Systems and Supply Chain Management has received the Walker College of Business’s Lifetime Achievement Award for devoting his career to providing students with international opportunities.

BOONE—An evening of symphonic masterpieces will be performed Nov. 23 by the Appalachian Wind Ensemble from the Hayes School of Music. The 8 p.m. concert will be in the Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts at Appalachian State University. Admission is free.

BOONE—AIESEC at Appalachian State University is looking for support to start its international volunteer program, Global Citizen. Support may include offering volunteer opportunities with High Country nonprofits, becoming a host family, or providing monetary sponsorships.
