Winners of the Hayes School of Music’s concerto-aria competition will perform with the Appalachian State University Symphony Orchestra. The performance will feature trumpet player David Marvel, clarinetist Steven Lease and violinist Victor Li.

Members of the string trio are Eric Koontz, viola, Nancy Bargerstock, violin, and Kenneth Lurie, cello. Joining the faculty are Margaret Bragg, violin, Audrey Sutton, viola, and Nora Naughton, cello.

The ensemble is composed of Julia Pedigo, soprano, Priscilla Porterfield, mezzo-soprano, Mary Gayle Greene, mezzo-soprano, John Fowler, tenor and Joseph Amaya, baritone. Rodney Reynerson will provide piano accompaniment.

Dr. Cary Levine will present a discussion on artists innovating with technology in his lecture, “Net Works: Jodi and the Early Days of Internet and Game Mods.”

Classical and contemporary compositions will be performed by trombonist Drew C. Leslie and tuba player Bernard H. Flythe during a faculty recital at Appalachian State University.

Harmonia Baroque kicks off the Super Bowl Sunday celebrations with a performance of extraordinary music by the Italian set Locatelli, Cavalli, Bononcini, Sammartini and Fontana.
