    In follow up to Saturday’s communication, we wanted to provide you with an update on a case of mumps in an Appalachian State University student, which was confirmed on April 7. While at this time, we have not detected additional cases of mumps, we remain on heightened alert for anyone with signs and symptoms compatible with mumps.

We are providing this information in the interest of maintaining open communication about the potential of exposure. Below we have summarized important information regarding mumps exposure and symptoms to encourage community members to promptly report suspected mumps cases.

    “The Physics of the Soul,” a documentary about the possible relationships between quantum physics and well-being, will be presented at Appalachian. A discussion with filmmaker Frank Huguenard will follow the screening.
