Six incoming students earned the Wilson Scholarship this year, Appalachian’s most prestigious merit-based scholarship. Selected on academic achievements, service and leadership, these students are passionately engaged!
Three Appalachian State University students are among the recipients of the prestigious Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE).
Six students have been selected to receive Appalachian State University’s Wilson Scholarship, the university’s most prestigious merit-based scholarship, which provides a full-ride education at Appalachian.
Whitehead won the $3,515 scholarship for his poems “Dr. Wilson,” “Chicago,” “Deliverance and Trauma” and “Untitled.” He is a rising senior majoring in English with a concentration in creative writing and a minor in theatre arts.
Bryce Cloniger of Davidson County and Evangeline Luciano of Dare County are the first recipients of the ECRS Computer Science Innovation and Entrepreneurship scholarships in Appalachian State University’s Department of Computer Science.
The inaugural Willie C. Fleming Scholarship has been awarded to three freshmen at Appalachian State University—Troy Boyd of Stanley, Latanya Gordon of Fayetteville and Jasmine Henderson of Charlotte. Each has received a $1,000 scholarship.
