    Gracie Bullington named App State Student Teacher of the Year

    Gracie Bullington was named the 2023-24 App State Student Teacher of the Year. She will be considered for the state level award this fall. Bullington graduated from App State in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in history/social studies education, and she is currently working toward a master’s degree in history with a concentration in teaching. Eight other student teachers were named finalists for the App State Student Teacher of the Year Award. They were: Adam Caliri, Carmen Cerrito, Madison Goodwin, Nadine Jallal, Caroline Jenkins, Bryson May, Rylie Spencer and Julienne Swaringen.

    Steven Cuzmenco ’23 was awarded first place in the Graduate Capstone category by the Preventative Cardiovascular Nurses Association (PCNA) for his thesis “Registered Nurses’ Perception of Plant-Based Dietary Patterns: Self-Efficacy, Health Beliefs and Behaviors.” His abstract will be published in the Journal of Cardiovascular Nursing, and he is invited to present his findings at the PCNA’s annual cardiovascular symposium in April in Orlando.
