    App State’s Child Development Center expansion is nearing completion, allowing the center to serve 54 additional students. The center is also celebrating achievement of accreditation through the Pathways to Accreditation program, offered by the Children’s Council of Watauga County.

    App State’s student-run solar vehicle team, Team Sunergy, secured a second-place finish in the multi-occupant vehicle category of the 2022 American Solar Challenge. The team completed 1,549 miles over the eight-day road race and took home the competition’s Electrical Design Award for the second consecutive year.

    A multidisciplinary team of App State students captured a second-place win in the 2021–22 Solar District Cup, recognized for their solar power system design. This national competition challenges students to develop renewable energy solutions for college campuses or urban districts.
