178 Spooky Duke racers help App State raise more than $13,000 for special-needs children

More than 175 racers from across the nation participated in App State’s virtual 2020 Spooky Duke Race and Costume Contest. Proceeds from the annual event benefit App State’s Parent to Parent Family Support Network-High Country (FSN-HC), which supports High Country children with special needs and their families.

To help keep students safe during COVID-19, App State held Operation Agile Leader (OAL) training exercises locally for senior ROTC cadets. The cadets’ leadership skills were assessed as part of OAL, which took place at the university’s Teaching and Research Farm in Ashe County.
