    In this outreach initiative by the Department of Geological and Environmental Sciences, students and faculty have made 1,600 educational kits for area schoolchildren in eight counties to help them learn about geology. The Rockin’ NC kits contain rock samples and other educational materials. They are designed to substitute the in-person presentations faculty and students would typically make before the pandemic.
