App State’s Dr. Gregory Perreault, assistant professor of multimedia journalism, has been awarded a 2020–21 Fulbright to teach and perform research at Austria’s University of Vienna this spring and summer. Through his research project, he is comparing the differences in journalistic values and practices between Austrian digital journalists and their American counterparts.

App State’s Dr. Andrew Koricich is one of four co-founders and co-directors of the Alliance for Research on Regional Colleges — a grant-funded initiative aimed at increasing appreciation for and understanding of U.S. regional, or rural-serving, colleges and their contributions. To date, the project has received more than half-million dollars in support.

App State names inaugural BCBS of NC Endowed Professor in Public Health

After conducting a national search, App State has appointed Dr. Martie Thompson as its inaugural Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Endowed Professor in Public Health. Thompson, who comes to App State from Clemson University, will join the faculty in App State’s Beaver College of Health Sciences in August.
