With a pay what you can, farm to table, format, the open kitchen is staffed with folks who are recovering from addiction. Cheryl Laws modeled the cafe after one that she spent much of her time in while she was getting her master’s degree from Appalachian State University.

New Superintendent Chosen for Caldwell County Schools

The Caldwell County Board of Education has unanimously selected Dr. Donald W. Phipps as the next superintendent for Caldwell County Schools. Dr. Phipps will take office on July 1 of this year. Phipps earned a master’s degree in school psychology and a doctorate in educational leadership from Appalachian State University.
