Sustainable sipping — plastic straw usage down by over 400K straws in Appalachian Community

Eco-conscious students, faculty and staff have helped reduce the use of plastic straws on Appalachian’s campus through the Straws by Request initiative. Additionally, 134,400 compostable straws were used from August 2018 to March.
App Student-Athletes Shatter Community Service Hours Record

This past year (May 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019), the Mountaineers completed more than 10,474 hours of community service – the most community service hours ever recorded by App State Athletics.
